IMPERIA people involved in the project

Thilo Roeth

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thilo Roeth founded Imperia Automotive Engineering in 1998. He also holds the Chair for Car Body Technology at the University of Applied Sciences in Aachen since 2001. Additionally Dr. Roeth is head of the Imperia Innovative Department. He is responsible for the implementation of new, innovative technologies for automotive body applications.

Role for NADIA
Due to his expertise in various projects on casting of hybrid light metal structures, Prof. Roeth supports the NADIA project on all relevant items of simulation data exchange. He is responsible for questions on casting and applications of the NADIA related VarioStruct tool for high pressure die casted structural parts.


Gerhard Von Kulmiz

Dipl.-Ing. Gerhard von Kulmiz joined Imperia GmbH in 2003, contributing to the expansion of the company. Mr. von Kulmiz is Managing Director and head of the Imperia Design Department.

Role for NADIA
Gerhard von Kulmiz is responsible for structural test components, test rig design and the manufacturing of testing equipment. He supports the project concerning material relevant questions and the application of Mg-demonstrator parts.


Carsten Tragsdorf

Head of Simulation and Testing Department and leader for advanced CAE-projects. Financial and technical coordinator of national and international research & development projects at Imperia.

Role for NADIA
Carsten Tragsdorf coordinates technical and financial aspects of the NADIA project. He accomplishes, in collaboration with two CAE engineers at Imperia, all relevant FE-simulations. Additionally he plans and coordinates material and structural tests and test set-ups at the Imperia facilities.
